We are thrilled to share exciting news: HashNet has been officially invited to participate in the upcoming Community of Practices on Social Innovation meeting. This meeting, dedicated to establishing the Competence Centres for Social Innovation Working Group, will take place on June 21 during the Social Innovation Village—Portugal’s largest social innovation event—organized by Portugal Social Innovation. The event will be held in the picturesque border town of Aldeia da Luz, in the Municipality of Mourão, within the Alentejo region.
A Key Milestone for Social Innovation
The kick-off meeting will bring together ESF+ committee members and key representatives from each EU Member State involved in approved EU consortia for National Competence Centres. This gathering represents a unique opportunity to align strategies, address emerging needs, and discuss key elements of the approach and working modalities for the newly formed Working Group. The goal is to ensure sustainable and productive cooperation that meets the needs of communities on the ground.

The agenda on June 21 begins with a thought-provoking debate titled, “Can Europe Lead the Way to Reduce Inequalities and Address the Major Problems That Society Faces?” This session will feature testimonials from various EU Member States, showcasing innovative practices. In the afternoon, a collaborative session will align future thinking and actions in policy and practice. Discussions will revolve around capacity building, ecosystem mapping, public sector support, and the operational models for future Competence Centres.
